When cajuns gather for a feast,
there'll be dancing in the streets!
Accordion music fills the air
People dancing ecerywhere
Songs are sung in cajun french
Lots of fine food - That's a cinch!

"Cajun Cuisine" What a treat!
Lots of fresh seafood to eat.
Crawfish boiling in the pot
File' Gumbo - Spicy Hot.
Etouffee and Crawfish Stew
Artistically made with cajun roux.

Ice cold beer goes really swell
With fresh Gulf Oysters on the shell.
Servers on ice for your selection
With jumbo shrimp cooked to perfection.
Fried catfish and courtbouillion
crawfish bisque and sauce picuante.

Pecan pie and fresh pralines
All the way from New Orleans
When Cajuns gather - What a treat!
Good Friends, Good Times,
Good Things To Eat!

A Cajun's Prayer

Sun's coming up on the bayou, Lord
So bright in the clean air,
As I kneel in my Cajun Cabin, Lord,
To offer my morning prayer.

What can I ask of you, Bon Dieu?
What can a Cajun wish?
I've got black coffee on my stove,
And this grand bayou to fish.

My nets are full and heavy, Lord,
My traps your bounty yields;
I harvest so many riches, Lord,
From your bayou, gulf and field.

When my exiled Cajun father, Lord,
Sought refuge in this land,
I know the force that led them on
Was Le Bon Dieu's unseen hand.

So, Lord, what more can a Cajun ask
than what I have today?
Bon sante, bons amis et ma famille
And Le Bon Dieu, who hears me pray.

Then this is my simple prayer, Lord,
A Cajun's humble plea;
May all of those who love you, Lord,
have all you've given me.
